Pastoral Care in Nursery

At nursery age, pastoral care mostly looks like this: a familiar adult who knows exactly how your child likes to say goodbye in the morning. [Key-person approach – confirm] means someone is always watching for the small signs that matter.

Children learn best when they feel safe, happy and understood, so every member of staff, not a designated few, takes responsibility for pupils’ wellbeing. Confidence is built through support, praise and encouragement; achievements academic and otherwise get noticed and celebrated; and standards of behaviour are high because children are shown what respect looks like, daily.
